Directions:  To Benton Bank and Red Walk (NE7 7BH). From A1058 Coast Road westbound (citybound) after the
Corner House take the right lane approaching and through the tunnel to take a right turn at the lights, immediately right, pass the church and right again (signed "Jesmond Dene" et al.).
Eastbound (from City) keep to the left lane and turn in left at the lights just before the tunnel and as above.
Jesmond Metro 1 km. Jesmond Cradlewell Bus Stop shown. Numerous services.


Parking:Along Red Walk or on Benton Bank (Steep. Care if icy.)(50p. per hour). Free around Cradlewell shops.
Entry:Senior members (M/W21+) £7.00 ~ Juniors (M/W20-) £2.00
Leaders of groups (scouts/schools) please notify the organiser in advance so that enough maps are printed.

 Orange (2.5 km. ~ 90m. climb) ~ Light Green (3.2 km. ~ 130m. climb)
 Short Green (2.9 km. ~ 90m. climb) ~ Green (4.7 km. ~ 110m. climb) ~ Blue (5.3 km. ~ 180m. climb).
Map:1:5000 for White and Yellow courses. 1:7500 for other courses.
 N.B. Underpasses are shown by an arrow indicating where the path goes under the bridge. Seats are not mapped.
Terrain:Urban parkland, with steep slopes and a complex path network including rocky steps. Some streets possible.
Dogs:Under close control.
Facilities:Public toilets at Friends of Jesmond Dene (opposite Pets Corner near start).
 Café also available from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Be wary of slippery steps/slopes if wet or frosty.
The approach to steepest ones will be marked with yellow and black tapes.
A whistle must be carried as a condition of entry.
