Plenty of attractions in the town to make a worthwhile day out: Coffee shops open, Gathering events, boats on the river, ducks and swans to feed.

Ideal event for newcomers as well as established orienteers

Nearest parking at the Leisure Centre (signed from the Clock Tower in central Morpeth)
Town parking is free (3hrs) but requires a 1 time disc from local shops, leisure centre or car park dispenser.
Bear in mind that Morpeth could be very busy for the festival and it may be necessary to use overflow parking at Mitford Road (Rugby Club)
Entry:Seniors (M/W21+) £7.00
Juniors (M/W20-) / Concessions £4.00 / Schoolchildren £2.00 (1 discount for 2nd child) to include use of SI equipment
Leaders of groups (scouts/schools) please notify the organiser in advance so that enough maps are printed.
Registration:Cross the footbridge into the park and continue forward to the Bowling Pavilion.

Courses:For the competitive: courses where quick decision making is the aim !
For the leisure orienteer: a chance to take part in the sport at your own pace.
Anyone planning on running both age class course and Family course should run their age class course first.
  • 1 ~ 2.1 km. ~ 25 m. climb ~ 12 controls ~ Men Open (16+) & Vet (40+) & SuperVet (55+), Women Open (16+) & Vet (40+)
  • 2 ~ 1.8 km. ~ 15 m. climb ~ 10 controls ~ Men UltraVet (65+), & HyperVet (75+),
    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Women SuperVet (55+), UltraVet (65+) & HyperVet (75+)
    Courses 1 & 2 involve some roads with light traffic.

  • 3 ~ 1.4 km. ~ 35 m. climb ~ 11 controls ~ Junior Men (15-) & Women (15-)
  • 4 ~ 0.7 km. ~ 10 m. climb ~ 7 controls ~ Young Junior Men (12-) & Women (12-)
  • 5 ~ 1.3 km. ~ 25 m. climb ~ 8 controls ~ Family group.
    Courses 3, 4 & 5 are traffic free.
