Ideal event for newcomers as well as established orienteers. Instruction available.

Travel:Approach via A68.
Turn off A68 O signed at Kiln Pit Hill (5 miles S. of Riding Mill / 6 miles north of Castleside)
After ~ 2.5 km. where the road swings right (chevrons) filter left (follow for 2.5 km. to an O signed turn off the road on the right).
Note that this is not the main hotel entrance. Ignore any hotel signs after Kiln Pit Hill.
ParkingHardstanding in a field on the southern side of the Estate. Please approach via A68. NY988546 ~ nearest postcode:DH8 9SA
Courses:White (1.1 km.) ~ Yellow (1.7 km.) ~ Orange (2.9 km.) ~ Light Green (3.5 km.)
Short Green (2.7 km.) ~ Green (4.5 km.) ~ Blue (6.1 km.) ~ Brown (8.0 km.) ~ subject to final controlling.
Entry:Seniors (M/W21+) 7.00.
Juniors (M/W20-) / Concessions 4.00 Schoolchildren 2.00
Leaders of groups (scouts/schools) please notify the organiser in advance so that enough maps are printed.
Registration: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Punching:SportIdent Electronic. Dibber loan free. Loss charge 40.
Starts:50 m. walk ~ 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Courses close 2:30 p.m.
Terrain: Mixed forest, some good and runnable, and open grassland, complex path networks.
Map: 1:10,000 Waterproof Paper.
Facilities: On site toilets. Community run public house Slaley Village.
