A series of low key local events on a Saturday morning, in and around Newcastle and North Tyneside, with a league to encourage participation and competition. Courses suitable for beginners (advice will be available) and the more experienced wanting some training competition.

Maps ands Controls
Sites will be marked with a red tape marker secured with a clothes peg. Markers will have a code letter in permanent marker to be written on the control card. Carry a pen.

100 points for the winner of each course, 99 for second, 98 for third etc. Anyone running in a course above their class will get a bonus of 5 points (10 for 2 courses above) and, likewise, anyone running a course below their class will be docked 5 points (10 for 2 courses below).

N-bound or S-bound on A189 exit "East Cramlington Ind.Estate" B1326 & follow Industrial Estate signs all the way.
From A192 Tynemouth & Whitley Bay turn onto B1326 "East Cramlington" on leaving Seaton Delaval. Industrial estate signed left beyond terrace of houses.
Park safely on the industrial estate approach road. Cross B1326 with care to the competition area (central refuge available) (NE23 6FX) ~ NZ284760
As Parking and Registration/Start are separated by several hundred yards and a road crossing, you may wish to come to registration with correct change and ready to run. However a key and change creche will operate.
Bus: GoNorthEast 19 N.Shields / Percy Main Metro / Northumberland Pk. Metro / Shiremoor / Delaval / E.CRAMLINGTON / Cramlington / Bedlington / Ashington & reverse
Beware dogs, bikes and possibly model aeroplanes.
Yellow 1.7km ~ Orange 3.0km ~ Long Orange 4.3km
Terrain: Nature reserve. Mixed woodland, grassland, paths, tracks.

Travel: To The Parks Sports Centre (NE29 6TL ~ NZ349675)
From the A187 (Howdon Road) follow the road for 'Sports Centre'. At the roundabout by the approach turn north into the Sport Centre grounds.
Metro: within easy walking distance of Meadow Well station. From the station turn south along Bridge Road South. On the left, opposite the junction with Clifton Gardens is a footpath leading to the Parks
Parking: Sports Centre Car Park. Toilets, Cafe.
Fast open sports centre grounds, fast open parkland with a extensive scatter of decorative boulders. Some street running possible on longer courses.
