The Start at Events

At the information/registration point establish how long should be allowed to reach the start. Set off in time (remembering that call up might be 3 or 4 minutes before your start time. The route to the start is usually indicated by short tape streamers). Sometimes different starts are used for different courses. Take care.

When your start time is announced, or there is a vacant spot on "turn up and go", present yourself to the official, who, depending on the recording system in use may remove the small stub from your control card or check that your electronic "dibber" is clear of old data. A start is usually in several stages. On leaving the last marked line take a copy of the map for your course and set off.

The time span shown on event details shows the range of start times available.
