Fabian4 Online Entry - Some Explanations

Click here for Fabian4 Online Entry

The Phoenix has both solo and pairs entries. This has necessitated changes to the Fabian4 entry system to cope with both types of entry on one entry form and you will find in place an ingenious system which does this in a very flexible way.

If you are having difficulty with it, please do not be put off entering the event! These notes may help. If not, email the Entries Secretary at the above address for help or post us an entry form.

Online entry is in 3 stages.

Stage 1
Contact details.

Stage 2
Competitor profiles.
1 competitor is automatically there - the contact person. If you have a family membership of British Orienteering, you may find more people automatically filled in. Just delete them if not wanted.
If you are entering more people, add them here. This includes all members of pairs entries.

Note that only one SI card/dibber number is needed per pair - the system uses the number for the first member of the pair. You can leave blank the dibber number for the second member.

Certain information like date of birth is compulsory - the system will tell you if necessary! Some of the stuff in the competitor profile is not relevant to the Phoenix e.g. there's information to do with orienteering - don't let it put you off!
If you are not a member of a club, just leave the orienteering club blank and use Unattached as the fell running club. It will not affect your entry fee!!

Hire dibbers If you are hiring an SI card/dibber, just leave the SI card number blank. The hire fee is not collected by the online system. It is £1 for 2 days and 50p for a single day and will be collected at the event.

Stage 3 Event Specific Details

This stage allows you to set up teams (teams of one for solo entries and teams of two for pairs), assign competition classes and indicate who is in each team.

The software initially sets up one team (of one) for each competitor from stage 2.
The configuration box allows you to change how your entry is configured into teams and which class each team is running.
The competitor box below deals with which team each competitor belongs to.

The basic process is to sort out the number of teams and then to enter which class they are running. Then go to the box below to make sure that the assignment of people to teams is correct. Also indicate here which days you are entering.

If necessary, click on 'recalculate fees'

There are 2 screenshots below to illustrate. The first one shows an entry for 3 people at the beginning of Stage 3. The second one shows it after being configured and after clicking on 'recalculate fees'.
