Update 17/1/22 Late news addedSixth of series of low key local Saturday morning events, in and around Tyneside, with a league to encourage participation and competition. Courses suitable for beginners and the more experienced wanting some training competition.

Late news: Since the maps were ordered it has been discovered that one plantation is closed off because of storm damage. This has affected a small part of each course, so there will be some hand amendments made to the map and descriptions.
Terrain: Mature Country Park with woodland and open hillside. Network of tracks and paths.
Travel: From A1058 Coast Road eastbound at the Wallsend turn keep left for A186 (Benton).
At the main roundabout (top of the rise) keep right for Whitley Bay.
Approaching the lights keep right lane to turn into ASDA Car Park.
Westbound on A1058 Coast Road or from the North take A19, then A186 (Gosforth) turning left into ASDA.
Metro to Palmersville (500 m. through industrial estate)
Bus 51 Newcastle > Whitley Bay
Bus 42/42A from multiple origins (see route map) to Benton ASDA.Parking: ASDA Car Park West End (N.B. Not the Country Park car park). NE12 9SJ.
Follow the entry road round past the fuel station and keep to the margin of the car park.Courses: Yellow (2.4 km.) ~ Orange (2.7 km.) ~ Long Orange (4.6 km.).
Entry: Senior (21+) £4 Junior (21-) & Student £2. Family £4.
Entry on the day only. Please provide exact change at DIY entry.
Large groups should give prior notice, please.Control Sites: Permanent markers on posts. Record letter code on the control card. Carry a pen.
Electronic timing will be used for start and finish with a card and pen carried round the course. All runners will be issued with a loan dibber which will be downloaded off site. Timing tickets will be issued at download and results published as soon as possible on this site.
Scoring: 100 points for the winner of each course, 99 for second, 98 for third etc. Anyone running in a course above their class will get a bonus of 5 points (10 for 2 courses above) and, likewise, anyone running a course below their class will be docked 5 points (10 for 2 courses below).
