    Travel: Approach via A68.
    Turn off A68 O signed at Kiln Pit Hill (5 miles S. of Riding Mill / 6 miles north of Castleside)
    After ~ 2.5 km. where the road swings right (chevrons) filter left onto a single track road and follow for 2.5 km. to an O signed turn off the road on the right.
    Note that this is not the main hotel entrance. Ignore any hotel signs after Kiln Pit Hill.

    Parking: Mainly hard surface with grass overflow. Google Maps ///tell.limp.outs

    Terrain: A mixture of forest types (deciduous, pine, young and mature and some felled) with a good tracks network.  Some rough pasture and runnable open areas by the two golf courses (of renown). All greens and fairways are strictly out of bounds.
    Throughout there are areas used for outdoor activities (e.g. karting and off-road bikes) some of which are marked as OOB. Parts of the mapped area will be in use by members of the public on activities organised by Slaley Hall Estate.

    Limited entry on the day for White, Yellow, Orange, Red only, subject to map availability.
