    Travel: Approach via A68.
    Turn off A68 O signed at Kiln Pit Hill (5 miles S. of Riding Mill / 6 miles north of Castleside)
    After ~ 2.5 km. where the road swings right (chevrons) filter left (follow for 2.5 km. to an O signed turn off the road on the right).
    Note that this is not the main hotel entrance. Ignore any hotel signs after Kiln Pit Hill.

    Terrain: Very mixed area with forestry plantations of various ages and runnability, some areas previously wooded now felled and some rough grazing.
    At two golf courses (of renown) all greens and fairways are strictly out of bounds.
    Throughout the area are outdoor activity locations for, for example, quadbiking, 4×4, clay pigeon shooting and, beside the assembly area, paintballing.The latter comprises three sectors with small buildings, bridges and a myriad of hides (a single short fence or board) used in the games to scale and as cover.

    Club championships will be decided again this year by scoring the results of all club members at this event. Club members should enter their choice of course in the usual way. No declaration regarding the championship is needed.

    For each club runner speed (min/km) multiplied by an age factor multiplied by a course difficulty factor will give a score. See link below for details & examples. That leaves entrants free to choose their course difficulty and balance that up with anticipated speed.
